FLL Teams — FIRST LEGO League
WCCA Robotics fielded two FLL teams during the 2025–26 Unearthed season, which had an archaeology theme. FIRST LEGO League is a robotics competition for students in 4th through 8th grade where teams build autonomous LEGO robots, develop an innovation project, and demonstrate core values like teamwork and discovery.

Marcus Bartholomew the Third Junior won the Champions Award and Robo Gators of the Lost Park won the Robot Performance Award at the Adventist Robotics FLL Championship on May 3!

Our flagship FLL team completed its third year and continued its track record of excellence. Named after a LEGO shark from the FLL Submerged mission, Marcus Bartholomew the Third Junior became the heart and soul of WCCA Robotics. There is even a real shark named after Marcus!

Our second FLL team was made up primarily of homeschool students and completed its first year of competition during the 2025–26 Unearthed season.
Innovation Project: The Protection Backpack — a portable weather shield to help archaeologists work comfortably in extreme conditions.

M.A.R.C.U.S.
Our 2025–26 FLL teams used M.A.R.C.U.S. (Multiple Amazing Robot Code Usage Selector) — an open-source robot programming framework for SPIKE Prime that provides a menu-driven system for selecting and running mission programs during competition.
